Emily has championed this contemporary treatment for over a decade and has received training under many philosophies of Hot Stone Training. Emily has combined her knowledge to develop this ultimate holistic course, tailored to appeal to all the senses. Her first Hot Stone Massage was truly a life-changing event and was the beginning of a major career change.
A fully qualified teacher, Emily has trained therapists in the treatment of Hot Stone Massage both within spa settings and education facilities across the country for many years.
The UK Hot Stone Academy is committed to providing integrity in training. All initial training courses run over two full days, affording therapists the opportunity to practice multiple treatments with the support of a fully qualified and experienced trainer. Research shows that a learner retains between 75% and 95% of the course content when that information is used or put into practice immediately, this drops dramatically (10% to 30%) when there is a gap between learning and practice. This is why it is important for us to teach two full days of hands on massage.This offers trainees the basis of a solid knowledge of the treatment and the confidence to operate the technical side of the therapy. Many Hot Stone Massage courses run over a period of one day. This means that at best trainees will only get one attempt at performing a supervised treatment and in some cases trainees don't have the opportunity to experience the treatment. Make sure these questions are asked when booking a course.
This course is quite technical which is why we believe that two days is the perfect length of time to cover all the essentials, to ensure proper practices are being carried out and it gives the trainee the opportunity to perform and experience three full treatments*.
The course offers integrity and value, being run over two full days, as research shows that up to 85% more learning is retained with immediate use of new skills.**
We know here at the Hot Stone Academy that money is a huge deciding factor and so we aim to provide courses that obviously will be more than a one day course, due to our costs but have aimed to make that increase as little as possible, while also maintaining the integrity of the course.
